Life story Robert E. "Bob" Hill, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. Born September 1, 1923 in Madison, he was the son of Louis J. and Catherine Lienenweber Hill. Mr. Hill served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant with the 5th Air Force during World War II. He also worked with his father and brothers at the Hill Buick dealership in the 1950's. Later, he worked for Demaree Motors in the parts department and the Charlestown Ammunition Plant. Mr. Hill was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and volunteered many hours transporting his elderly neighbors in his retirement. He especially enjoyed regular trips to the Dayton Air Show. Survivors include three daughters: Dianne Hill and her husband, Ken Schomaker of Madison, Susan Hill of Madison, and Nancy Hogg and her husband, Wade, of Madisonville, Kentucky; three sisters: Catherine Horton and Janet Conner, both of Madison, and Mary Alice Wasnok of Fullerton, California; three brothers: Fred Hill of Madison, Harry Hill of Orlando, Florida, and Paul Hill of Louisville, Kentucky, one grandson, Wade Hogg, II; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Martha Jane Kalb; one sister, Margaret Harmon; and two brothers: Louis J. Hill, Jr. and Richard T. Hill. The Memorial Mass will be conducted by the Reverend John Meyer at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Chapel, with interment in Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
