Life story Roger L. Kittle, age 83, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Hickory Creek at Madison. He was born January 16, 1931 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the son of Carlton Lee and Amy Sara (Montross) Kittle. Mr. Kittle was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School, where he was class president all four years of high school, and a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Dow Corning Company in Carrollton, Kentucky, retiring as the plant maintenance supervisor. He was also a partner with the late Harvey Hamilton, owning and operating the former Hamilton-Kittle Monuments in Madison. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and a member of the Madison Elk's Lodge, where he served as Exalted Ruler in 1967, elected a life member in 1996, was Elk of the Year in 2008, and was the oldest current active member of the lodge at the time of his death. He was an amateur magician, and enjoyed genealogy, basketball and tennis. Survivors include his wife, the former Eileen Brisco, to whom he was married on June 7, 1952 in London, England; one son, Stan Kittle of Milford, Ohio; two daughters: Linda Kittle and her husband, Dane Cervine, of Santa Cruz, California, and Gloria Goetz and her husband, Jim, of Erlanger, Kentucky; one brother, Richard Kittle of Lawrenceburg; and six grandchildren: Travis, Jacob, Sara and Adam Goetz, Kelsey Cervine and Gabriel Kittle-Cervine. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Kittle; and two sisters: Carolyn Connolly and Doris Schwendeman. The Reverend Dennis Ingle will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Committal services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 24 at the Greendale Cemetery in Greendale, Indiana. An honor Guard from the United States Navy will conduct military honors. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM Sunday. The Madison Elk's Lodge will conduct memorial services at 1:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
