Life story Rollan McCarty, age 74, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. Born April 19, 1944 in Salyersville, Kentucky, he was the son of Mark and Effie (Burton) McCarty. He worked in tobacco and as a groundskeeper. He enjoyed dancing, gardening and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his sisters: Athlene Stewart of Madison, Rita Wise of Madison, Loretha Baker of Dover, Ohio, and Verna Walters of Elkton, Maryland; his brothers: Luke McCarty of Milton, Kentucky, and Jerry McCarty of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wanda Banks; and his brothers: Delmar, Kenneth, Abner, Glen and Junior McCarty. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, on Madison's Hilltop with interment to follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Thursday, October 25, 2018 and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday.
