Obituary

Life story Mrs. Ruby Jean (Jones) Edwards, age 74, passed away on Thursday May 15, 2008 at Jewish Hospital. Born on February 28, 1934, she was the daughter of Luster and Sudie Mae (Smith) Jones. She married James W. Edwards, Sr. on November 4, 1950. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and loving mother, who cared for her husband, children, family and neighborhood children. She formerly worked at the Madison State Hospital. She was baptized in the Greenroad Baptist Church, Fount, Ky. and a member of the First Baptist Church. Madison. She was a Charter member of the former Eagles Lodge and a member of the Former Redmans Lodge. She enjoyed reading, volunteering for the March of Dimes and American Heart Association and being a Girl Scout Leader when her children were young. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Linda Marie Edwards Jr. of Madison; four daughters, Marie Dora Edwards and Pamela Gay Edwards of Madison; Mary Lynn Childress and her husband, Harold of Seymour and Ulisa June Baker and her husband, Ray of Cloverdale; three sisters; Dora Kathleen Thurston of New Port Richey, FL, Helen Beaver of Rockford, IL, Mabel Berger of Loves Park, IL, Linda Frances of Bradenton, FL and one brother; Perry Jones of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren: Christina, Brent, Laura, Rachel, Jeri, Bridget, Rebecca, Jennifer, Lyssa, Chauncey, and Ethan; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Edwards on November 29, 1998, three brothers: Luster "Junior" Jones, Jr., Homer Jones, and Harold Jones, an infant sister Eula Fay Jones and a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Lynn Nickel. The Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 11 AM Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and from 10:00 AM until time of service Monday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. The family request memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
