Life story Mrs. Ruby Housemeyer, age 88, of Hanover, formerly of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the Hanover Health and Rehab in Hanover. Born September 17, 1921 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George and Esther Arnett Keeton. She graduated from the Hazelwood Academy in Eastern Kentucky, held a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Master's degree from Indiana University. Mrs. Housemeyer moved to Madison in 1970 from Milton, Kentucky. She was formerly employed as a proof director for the former Jefferson Proving Ground and then taught in the Madison School System at Canaan and the Madison Jr. High School. She retired in 1976. She was a Christian and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Survivors include two sons: Fess Whitaker and his wife, Trasee of Crestwood, Kentucky, and Charles Jett of Winchester, Kentucky; and one grandson, Layne Whitaker of Crestwood. She was preceded in death by her parents; her third husband, Coleman Whitaker in 1972; her fourth husband, Ralph Housemeyer in 1978; and one brother, Melvin Keeton. Graveside services will be conducted by the Reverend Ed Mesta at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Kentucky. Interment will follow there.
