Obituary

Ruby L. Colvin, age 67, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Gleason) Neukirchner, was born on November 10, 1956, in Chillicothe, Ohio. After the birth of her two sons, she enjoyed being their teacher for many years through a home school program. After they finished schooling, she did secretarial work for Chicago Bridge and Iron until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed feeding the birds, being outdoors and playing the tambourine. She was a Sunday School Teacher at the former Apostolic Christian Church and led a Bible Study at the Hanover Nursing Center. Ms. Colvin passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2024 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. Her life will be cherished by her husband, Arlie Colvin of Madison; her son: Arlie L. Colvin II, of Madison; her step-mother: Garnett Neukirchner of Frankfort, Ohio; her sisters: Tina Skirvin and her husband, Tommy of Hanover, Tasha Neukirchner, of Dayton, Ohio, and Farrah Smith, of Frankfort; her brothers: Frank Neukirchner, Jr. and Jesse Neukirchner, both of Frankfort; and her nieces and nephews: Brandy, Jennifer, Charles, Nicole and Stacey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Leeland Colvin who passed away on October 26, 2021 and her sister, Penny Louise Edgington who passed away on April 5, 2023. No services will be held. Interment will take place in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison. Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ruby Colvin Memorial Fund. Contributions can be given at Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
