Life story Russell Trader, age 72, of Madison, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born Friday, September 24, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Earl and Lillian Goetz Trader. Dr. Trader graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee and earned a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University. He moved to Madison in 1976 and served as a school psychologist for Scott, Jennings, Madison Schools and the Madison Special Services Unit until his retirement in May of 2008. He was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists. He collected coins, stamps, comic books, enjoyed playing golf and watching Uof L basketball, and was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He and his wife loved to travel having visited forty-nine of the fifty states and several Carribean Islands. Survivors include his wife, the former Kathy Waller, to whom he was married on July 6, 2001 in Reno, Nevada; one daughter, Rachel Kilgore-Trader and her husband Lee Kilgore of Hanover, Indiana; two sons: Christopher Trader and his wife, Kathy, and Grant Trader and his wife, Patricia, all of Hanover; two step daughters: Amy Hoffman-Calderon and her wife Keola of Louisville, Kentucky, and Erin Holler and her husband Ed of Madison, thirteen grandchildren: Kaitlin Kilgore, Ashley Trader, Allison Trader, Nick Trader, Julia Jones, Kyndal Jones, Lily Trader, Kailyn Rector, Kamryn Conboy, Eli Caldron, Cali Holler, Cassandra Kilgore and Meaghan Kilgore; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Reverend Charlotte Nash will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Lytle Funeral Homes, Main Street, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3 and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Lytle Funeral Homes, Main Street. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity.
