Life story Sandra L. Butler Scarlett, age 58, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at her residence. She was born on July 16, 1948 in Madison, the son of Roy Dale and Wilna "Jubie"(Bare) Benham. Mrs. Scarlett attended Southwestern High School and moved back to Madison in 1999 after living for twenty years in Arizona. She worked for the former Best Western Motel in Madison and was forced into retirement from Wal-Mart in 2006 due to illness. She attended the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Madison, and loved to sew and spend time with her granddaughter. Survivors include her husband, Donald Scarlett, Jr., to whom she was married on December 29, 1996 in Glendale, Arizona; one son, David Scott Stucker of Madison; one brother, Michael Benham of Madison; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Deann Stucker of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be conducted by The Reverend Monty L. Mahoney at 5:00 PM Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. In accordance to her wishes, Mrs. Scarlett's body will be donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine following the services. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of South Central Indiana. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
