Life story Mrs. Shirley L. Guess, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Hickory Creek of Madison. Born November 29, 1927 in Madison, she was the daughter of the late William "Buck" Inskeep and Pauline (Hackney) Inskeep-Tyree. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Guess on April 22, 1990, and one brother, Randy Inskeep. Mrs. Guess was a graduate of the former Broadway High School, and attended Indiana University and Butler University. She was a homemaker, a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and was involved with the Jefferson County Democratic Party. She enjoyed talking on the phone with friends and family members, and bowling in her younger days. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kathy Guess of North Vernon, Indiana; one daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Ronald Shropshire of Madison; one brother, Jerry Inskeep of Marion, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Natasha, Blake and Kristian Johnson, Ashley Stone, Anna James, and Ryan and Julian Guess; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Reverend Robert Scott and Reverend Robert Bass will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery.
