Life story Shirley Ann Konkle, age 49, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Waters of Clifty in Madison. She was born on July 13, 1958 in Madison, the daughter of Raymond Dale and Mary Lucille (Phillips) Konkle. Miss Konkle graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1976, and was a licensed beautician. She had owned and operated the New Look Salon in Hanover, where she lived, from 1983 until ill health forced her retirement in 2007. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison. Survivors include one brother, Roy Dale Konkle of New Albany, Indiana; several cousins, including Teresa Lichlyter, who was also her caregiver; and two step-brothers: Steve Bentz and Greg Bentz, both of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her step-father, Manly Bentz. The Reverend Lewis Wright will conduct funeral services at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 416 Vine Street, Madison. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9 AM until the time of the services at the church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
