Life story Mrs. Sue Kimmel Yater, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at her residence. She was born on August 17, 1922 in Eldorado, Arkansas. She worked as an administrative officer in Civil Service at the former Jefferson Proving Ground, and retired after thirty-three years of service. Her memberships included the Madison Elks Lodge# 524 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #1969. She loved to play Bridge, Euchre and other card games, growing flowers and being with her grandchildren. Survivors include four sons: George Kimmel of Georgetown, Texas; Keith Kimmel and his wife, Brenda, of Madison; Jeptha Kimmel of Madison; and Joe Kimmel and his wife, Gail, of Hanover; one sister, Margaret Ann LeCuyer of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren: Jed, Brian, Jill, Sean, Tommy, Joely, Jordan, and Carrie; and ten great grandchildren: Noah Kimmel, Jacob, Wesley, Noah Andrew, Owen, Evan, Brady, Jenna, Jonathon, and Lola. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Beardon; her first husband, Jeptha J. Kimmel and her second husband, Herman C. Yater. The family has requested a time of rejoicing to remember Mrs. Sue Kimmel Yater. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
