Obituary

Life story Mr. Timothy Christian Montgomery, age 68, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 22, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of John and Freida Hewitt Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery graduated from high school in Cincinnati where he was his class valedictorian. He then majored in math and science and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He retired in 1986 from teaching in the Switzerland County, Indiana schools where he taught Math, Science and computer. He had also served as the Cross Country Track coach, and the Junior/Senior Class sponsor. Earlier in his career, he taught in the inner city schools of Cincinnati. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader in Switzerland County for twelve years, and enjoyed nature, hiking, gardening and traveling to state and national parks. He was a member of minister at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison. Survivors include his wife, the former Carolyn Sue Lock, to whom he was married on July 5, 1986 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison; one daughter, Hope Leah Lock-Helms and her husband, Renaldo R. of Madison; and three grandchildren: Meghan Alexandria, Lantz Edward Alexander and Heather G. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vernon Montgomery in 2008. Memorial services will be conducted by Jeffrey Smith at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison. The family will receive visitors at the home of his wife for a short visit immediately following the memorial service.
