Life story Mrs. Velma Ruth Goad, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2007 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 24, 1922 in Oakland City, Indiana, the daughter of Emmett Luther and Nellie Bell (Robertson) Ingram. Mrs. Goad worked in defense plants in Evansville, Indiana during World War II. In November 1949, she married Argle Goad and moved to Elkhart, Indiana, living there until moving to Madison in 1984. She attended the First Baptist Church and Christ Episcopal Church, and was a member of the LaBelle Riviere Rebekah Lodge # 624. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Richard Jones of Madison; one son, Ronald Goad and his companion, Heather Adler of Madison; two granddaughters, Anna and Sarah Jones; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Jean Ingram of Boonville, Indiana; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Beverly and Robert Tyring of Jasper, Indiana, Shirley and George Hadley of Evansville, Indiana, and Betty Lou and Don Huett of Boonville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in April 1987; three brothers: Woodrow, Robert and Donald Ingram; and one sister, Doris Sunderman. The Reverend Rick Draper will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday at the Christ Episcopal Church, with interment to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday and 10 AM to 12 PM Monday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
