Life story Virginia Louise Yetter of Milton, Ky., died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in Louisville at The Christian Health Center. She was 91. Virginia was born July 15, 1915, and was raised and educated in Chicago where she worked as a professional model, and at Marshall Field and Co. department store, at Cruttenden & Co. (a LaSalle Street brokerage firm), and as a chief clerk to the trainmaster at the Santa Fe Railroad. After a divorce, she moved to Kentucky in 1956 to be with her parents, Louis E. and Agnes M. Bierck on their farm in Trimble County, across the Ohio River from Madison, Ind. Virgina devoted her life to her parents, her children, and her grandchildren. During her years in Madison, Virginia worked at the Madison Courier newspaper, the First National Bank, and the Clifty Inn at Clifty Falls State Park. She volunteered as a docent for the Jefferson County (Ind.) Historical Society and Tri-Kappa Tour of Homes, and greatly enjoyed providing tours of Madison's historic homes. She was named an "Exceptional Docent" in 1999. Virginia was a Roman Catholic and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church (formerly St. Mary's) in Madison. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Virginia Yetter, and Carolyn's husband, Tom Beshear; and her son, Richard Louis Yetter, his wife, Deborah, and their three children, Richard Birk Yetter, Julia Marie Yetter, and Laura Elisabeth Yetter. Visitation will be Friday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 W. Main St. in Madison from 4-8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Church, 413 E. Second Street, Madison, Indiana, at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Madison. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Friends of Shawe and Pope John Schools. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
