Obituary

Life story Mrs. Vivian G. Tingle, age 70, of Elkhart, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Woodlawn Manor in Elkhart. She was born on May 31, 1938 in Madison, the daughter of Dale Melvin and Martha Burchfield Aldridge. She lived in Madison until 1954 until she and her husband, Andrew, moved to Anderson. They then moved to Elkhart in 1973, and after his death, she moved to Indianapolis in the late 1980's. There she worked as an administrative assistant in the Department of Children's Services for the State of Indiana. She later returned to Elkhart to live out her remaining years. Mrs. Tingle was an avid pianist and piano teacher. She loved to read, study the Bible and play cards. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Steven Johnson of Elkhart, and Debbie and James Horn of Bluffton, Indiana; one son, Steve Tingle of Bremmerhaven, Germany; two sisters: Jan Daugherty of Columbus, Indiana and Louetta Hill of Hanover, Indiana; one brother, Keith Aldridge of Hanover; four granddaughters, Jennifer horn, Dana Horn, Cheyanne Tingle and Kyra Ann Tingle and one great granddaughter, Nevada Raine Linwell. She was preceded in death by husband, Andrew N. Tingle, whom she married on January 2, 1954 and who died in 1978; her parents, Dale M. Aldridge and Martha Burchfield Aldridge Fewell; one sister, Donna Butters; and one brother, Malcolm Aldridge. The Reverend Gregory Russell will conduct funeral services at 11:00AM Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 PM Friday, June 13, and from 10 AM until time of services on Saturday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
