Life story William "Fergie" Dennis Ferguson, age 69, of Milton, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at his residence in Milton. Born November 6, 1949 in Bridgeport, Illinois, he was the son of William Oliver Ferguson and Captolia Mary (Craig) Ferguson. On February 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Docie C. Freeman. He retired in 2009 as a welder for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 440 of Indianapolis, Indiana, where he moved from Terre Haute Local 157. He served in the United States Navy and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed woodworking, riding his Harley Ultra Classic, and loved his boxer, Gus. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Docie of Milton; his daughter, Lori Baird and her husband, Kevin of Milton; his sons: Steve Ferguson and his wife, Vicki, and Aaron Ferguson, both of Gainesville, Florida; his sister, Sue Trosper of Marietta, Oklahoma; his aunts, Kate Dale of Bridgeport, Illinois, Maxine Rodgers of Robinson, Illinois; two grandchildren: Jakob Ferguson and Jaiden Baird; and one great-grandson, Lucas Fremin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oliver Ferguson and Captolia Mary Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison's Hilltop, with interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2019, and from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Friday. The United States Navy and Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Service Details.
