Life story Mrs. Zilpha Helen Giltner, 103, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born on November 14, 1909 in Tar Fork, Kentucky, the daughter of Eli D. and Stella (Mason) Jackson. Mrs. Giltner lived most of her life in Madison, and was part of the nursing staff at Madison State Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Marvin Giltner and George Giltner, and his wife Lorraine, all of Mishawaka, Indiana; one sister, Kathryn Wahlstrom of Owensboro, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shela Jewell Giltner in 1949; three daughters, Eleanor Marie Curry, Jessie Eileen Buchanan and Beverly Carol Spurgeon; and three brothers, Marvin V. Jackson, Carroll Jackson and Eli David Jackson. A celebration of Mrs. Giltner's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison. Friends and family may call from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Burial will in the Tar Fork Christian Church Cemetery, Tar Fork, Kentucky.
