Alzada M. (Buis) Moye

Life story Mrs. Alzada M. Moye, age 81, of North Vernon, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Eardist and Alice (Watson) Buis, was born September 10, 1938, in Casey County, Kentucky. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with honors. She was the office manager for a home healthcare company for many years and was a member of the Women of Moose, the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Phi Theta Kappa Sorority. She had a love for cats, especially Boo-Boo. She was a professional woman and enjoyed reading, shopping, and fishing in her younger years. Mrs. Moye passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in North Vernon, Indiana. Her life will be cherished by her children: Jackie Cornett and her husband, Virgil of North Vernon and Jimmie Dean Rodgers and his wife, Tammie, of Madison; her grandchildren: James Derek Green, Kristin Getchell, Paula McMillan, James E. Cameron Rodgers, and Kevin Cornett; her great grandchildren: Keegan, Rylee, Luke, Austin, Bentley, Arbor, Clayton, Sylvia, Maleah, Alexis, Brianna, and Calab. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Alma Kelly and Agnes Chesher; and her brother, Eardist Buis Jr. Reverend Jerry Wheeler will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2020, and from 12:00 PM until time of service on Sunday. The family would like everyone to dress casual in honor of Alzada. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research.
