Anita Lea (Demaree) Chitwood

Life story Anita Lea Chitwood, age 66, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born October 30, 1951 in Madison, Indiana, she was the daughter of Verland and Jean (Minch) Demaree. She was a graduate of South Ripley High School and had previously worked at Grote Industries in Madison. She retired in 2012 as an equipment operator from Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation. On April 27, 2008, she was united in marriage to Jack A. Chitwood in Madison. She was a member of the Madison Elks Lodge and the Jefferson Post #9, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and a past member of the Madison Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed antiquing, cooking and feeding others. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Jack of Hanover; her daughter, Kristen Bell of La Grange, Kentucky; her son, Jamie Bell of Madison; her step daughter, Katryina McCormick; her step sons: Brady, Brett, and Brynen Chitwood; her brothers: Bill Risk of Hanover, Randy Demaree, of Cross Plains, Indiana, and Darrin Demaree of Benham, Indiana; her grandchildren: Brooke Bell, Bailey Earls, Kennedy Earls, Rylee Carlton, Aria Fitzgerald, Lila Rae Chitwood, Logan Chitwood, Hannah McCormick and Jordan McCormick; and one great grandchild: Miles Edens. She was preceded in death by her parents. Brother Mike Bell will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Downtown Madison, with interment to follow in Benham Cemetery in Benham, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Main Street Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 17, 2018, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
