Ann M. Harrison, age 98, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Holsinger) Pest, was born on March 23, 1926, in Springfield, Louisiana. Her parents were immigrants from Hungary in the early 1900s and arrived through Ellis Island. All of her brothers enlisted and served in World War II. On December 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Thurman G. Harrison and they were blessed with four sons: Phillip (Beth), Van (Virginia), Anton (Kim) and Troy. For over 33 years, she worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, and she was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Mrs. Harrison passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
Her life will be cherished by her son: Troy Harrison, of Madison; her granddaughter: Kim (Steve) Porter, of Owensboro, Kentucky; her grandson: Paul Harrison; three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; two great great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including: Lana Kay Josephson, of Boynton Beach, Florida and Sally Eddy of Destin, Florida; and her dear friends: Judy Koehler and Darleen Connolly, both of Madison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Harrison on September 19, 1986 and her sons: Phillip, Van, and Anton Harrison; her granddaughter, Gail Harrison; and her siblings: Mary Pest Martin, James Pest, Elizabeth Pest Hantson, Natcie Ignatius Pest, Magdalene Theresa Pest Jones, David Pest, Joseph Paul Pest, Margaret Louise Pest King, Theresa Katherine Pest Downing, Della Juliana Pest Grissom, Rose Agnes Pest Helton, and Steve Michael Pest.
Father Christopher Craig will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 301 West State Street, Madison. Interment in Saint Patrick Cemetery will be private.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Shawe and Pope John Catholic Schools. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
