Barbara (Ellis) Simpkins

Life story Barbara Simpkins, age 51, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born January 22, 1966 in Carroll County, Kentucky. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Carrollton and loved playing Bingo with her friends. She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Heaven Walker of Madison, Amber Simpkins of Vevay, Indiana, and Patience Ramirez of Madison; sons: Brandon Walker of Madison, and James Webster of Glencoe, Kentucky; sisters: Verna Lee Moore, Debbie Johnson, Brenda Roberts, and Lee Robbins, all of Carrollton; brothers: Tommy Ellis and Bobby Mertz, both of Gallatin County and Mark Mertz of Carrollton; and three grandchildren: Audrey and Kyler Adams, and Brandon Walker, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Ellis, mothers, Mary Mertz and Dorothy Holland; and brothers: Eddie Ray Mertz, Jimmy Ellis, and Richard Ellis. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
