Betty J. Davis, age 85, of Vevay, Indiana, and the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Florence (Hamilton) Davis, was born on February 13, 1941, in Madison, Indiana. She attended Central High School and shortly after began working in the Jefferson County Clerk's Office. On March 25, 1958, Betty was united in marriage to John "Red" L. Davis in Scottsburg, Indiana, and they enjoyed 68 wonderful years together. Together, Red and Betty shared a passion for travel, creating lasting memories in places such as Key West, Florida, Michigan, and even Japan.
Throughout her life, Betty worked in Dr. Grassmyer's dental office, Dr. Nallenger's urology practice at King's Daughters' Hospital, and with KDH Home Health. For twenty years, she also proudly owned and operated Red's Package Store in Vevay alongside her husband. In her free time, Betty enjoyed golfing, reading, and spending time on the farm. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Above all, Betty cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering willingness to help others. Mrs. Davis passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at her residence in Vevay, with her loving family by her side.
Her life will be cherished by her husband, John "Red" of Vevay, Indiana; her sons: Paul Davis and his wife, Bridget of Madison, and Randy Davis of Vevay; her grandchildren: Bailey Davis, Addie Davis, Will Davis, and Ransom Davis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Martha Barnes and Hazel Firth.
Honoring Betty's wishes, cremation was chosen and no formal services will be held.
