Betty Gay (Bell) Stackhouse

Betty Gay Stackhouse, age 71, of Dupont, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Raymond Wilbur and Bennie Francis (Martin) Bell, was born on March 14, 1951, in Madison, Indiana. She was a 1970 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She was united in marriage to David Stackhouse and this union of 53 years, was blessed with two daughters, Pamela and Tammy. For over ten years, she worked at Madison Consolidated Schools where she retired in 2012. She was a member of North Madison Christian Church and the CREAK Club. She enjoyed camping, traveling, especially to Gatlinburg and the t-shirts shop, and spending time with her family-especially her grandkids. Mrs. Stackhouse passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at her residence in Dupont.

Her life will be cherished by her husband, David of Dupont; her daughter: Tammy Schafer and her husband, Rick of Dupont; her grandchildren: Amanda Lawson and her husband, Matt of Sparta, Kentucky, Ryan Schafer and his companion, Kelsy Mills of Madison, Trenton Kelley of Madison, and MiKeala Kelley of Madison; her great granddaughter, Ava Lawson of Sparta; and her brothers: Reverend Michael Bell of Glendale, Kentucky, David Bell of Madison, and Ray Bell and his wife, Paula of Hanover, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Branaman in 2004 and her sister, Nancy Kilgore.

Reverend Michael Bell will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Friday, May 27, 2022 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Dupont Cemetery in Dupont. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2022, and from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday.
