Blanche Ann (Derby) Franks

Blanche Ann Derby Franks, age 78, of North Vernon, Indiana, and the daughter of the late James and Rae (Hearne) Derby, was born on January 9, 1944, in Franklin, Indiana. On September 11, 1965, she was united in marriage to Tom L. Franks and they enjoyed 56 years together. Throughout her life, she was a homemaker, owned and operated Tunnell Inn Restaurant & Bar, and was the manager of Monoham Apartments in North Vernon, Seymour, and Columbus. When her children were younger, she enjoyed coaching softball and was a Girl Scout Troop leader. She was a member of the Otter Creek Church and enjoyed macrame, crocheting, and was the best mother ever. Mrs. Franks passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at her residence in North Vernon.

Her life will be cherished by her husband, Tom of North Vernon; her children: Russell Franks and his wife Angel, and Melissa Stoner and her husband, Dale Ramey; her sister: Melanie Hall and her husband, John; five grandchildren: Russell Franks, Crystell Franks, Tommy Franks, Jacob Ramey, and Myranda Stoner; four great grandchildren, and her nephew and niece: Matt and Mariah Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Risen Savior Bible Church, 2925 US Highway 50, North Vernon. She will be laid to rest at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later time. Friends and family may call at the Risen Savior Bible Church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.
