Brenda J. (Scroggins) Robbins

Life story Brenda J. Robbins, age 72, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Grover J. and Doris M. (Brinson) Scroggins, was born on November 7, 1947, in Madison. She was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Robbins on May 13, 1966. She was a homemaker, and worked at Heck's and The Main Grill, and opened and operated the Dollar Pleaser Consignment Shop. She enjoyed watching TV, especially NCIS and Street Outlaws. She played and coached softball for many years, including travel all star teams. She loved bowling, having played in many leagues and won many trophies, and especially loved spending time with her grandbabies. Mrs. Robbins passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at her residence in Madison. Her life will be cherished by children: Missy Whalen, and her husband, Kenneth, Jr. of Hanover, Indiana, and Allen Robbins, of Madison; her sister: Daffney Rowlett, and her husband, Josh of Madison; her brothers: Gerald Scroggins, and his wife, Marianne of Madison and Loren "Skip" Scroggins, and his wife, Hilary of Madison; her grandchildren: Kenneth Trey Whalen III, Charles "Chuck" Whalen (Kierstan), Katlin Robbins, Samantha McRoberts (Corbin), Matthew Robbins, Zachary Robbins, Gary Rowlett, Joshua Rowlett, Ryan Rowlett, Kendall Scroggins, and Guy Banks Scroggins; her great grandchildren: Maylie Whalen, Savannah McRoberts, Carson McRoberts, Kylee Whalen, and Ainzlee Whalen; a host of nieces and nephews; and her loving caregiver, Shanna Hewitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Robbins who passed away in 1986; her son, Charles Robbins, Jr.; her sister, Beverly Ann Scroggins, and her grandson, Christopher Robbins. Pastor Scott Kollmann will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2020, at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Caledonia Cemetery near Vevay, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2020, and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes or below.
