Charles B. "Tookie" Stockdale, age 72, of Milton, Kentucky, and the son of Wilbur and Lola (Schafer) Stockdale, was born on November 17, 1947, in Trimble County, Kentucky. He graduated from Trimble County High School and enlisted in the United States Army. After serving in the Vietnam War, he was a gunner at the Jefferson Proving Grounds until he retired. He was united in marriage to Charlene Stockdale. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Stockdale passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
His life will be cherished by his daughter, Heather Nickell and her husband, Noah, of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother, Lola Stockdale of Milton; his sisters: Vonetta Smith and her husband, Danny, of Hanover, Indiana, Tammy Stockdale, of Milton, Cheryl Roberts and her husband, Kerry, of Carrollton, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Trenton, Noah, MaKenna, Maylee, and Kasen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Stockdale and his father, Wilbur Stockdale.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky with interment to follow.
The United States Army and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
