Life story Charlotte I. DeVaudreuil died December 20, 2020 peacefully at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton, Virginia. She was 100 years old. She was born February 1, 1920 to Charles Wiley Bebout and Carrie Dora (Welch) Bebout in Milton, Kentucky. She was the eldest of five siblings and has one half-sister. Charlotte met Frederick DeVaudreuil in Louisville, Kentucky in 1943 and they were married on September 3, 1943 just a few months before his glider group was deployed to England in WWII. After the war, they moved to New England and lived most of their married life in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Charlotte moved to Virginia in 2013. Her thoughts were always of the hills of Kentucky on the Ohio River and she dearly loved her flowers, cats and kids. She is survived by her daughter: Anne Clayton (Justin) of Warrenton, VA; her son: Michael DeVaudreuil (Donna) of Cumberland, Maine; five grandchildren: James Clayton (Lynne) of Rixeyville, VA, Kelly Clayton (Mike Burka) Vienna, VA, Eric DeVaudreuil of Westbrook, Maine, Jeffrey DeVaudreuil of Cincinnati, Ohio and Laura DeVaudreuil of Portland, Maine; and her great- granddaughter: Riley Charlotte-Rose Burka of Vienna, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006 and her eldest son, Frederick in 2018. Following her wishes, she will be buried next to her father in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky, overlooking the Ohio River. No public services will be held. The family gives heartfelt thanks for the care she received from the extraordinary staff at Blue Ridge Christian Home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.
