Clyde Gordon Philpot

Life story Clyde Gordon Philpot, Sr., age 65, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana. Born September 12, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Clyde and Liza (Martin) Philpot. On July 21, 1972, he was united in marriage to Bernice Durham. Mr. Philpot retired in 2005 as the head of Extrusion for the Hilex Company in North Vernon. He enjoyed fishing and being a musician, having played guitar in the Sweet River Band. He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Sharon Smith of Deputy, Indiana and Jessica Philpot of North Vernon; his sons: Clyde Philpot and Clayton Philpot, both of North Vernon, Timothy Philpot of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Jason Philpot of Greensburg, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on March, 7, 2018; two sisters: Jacqueline King and Roseanne Philpot; and three brothers: Wallace, Clarence, and Kenneth Philpot. Reverend John Willis will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madisons Hilltop. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
