Danny Henderson Obituary

Danny Lyle Henderson, age 75, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late N.W. and Gladys (Carder) Henderson, was born on November 14, 1946, in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. He was a 1964 graduate of Madison High School and served in the Army Reserves. He was united in marriage to the former Arlene Cull on January 4, 1969 in Madison. After high school, he worked at CNR Parts in Madison. He went on to become an assembler at the Ford Motor Company, Fern Valley Road Plant, where he worked for forty-one and a half years. After retiring from Ford in 2007, he worked for Walgreens in Madison for fourteen years where he was commonly known as "Mr. Walgreens."

He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel and was committed to being a blood donor, donating ten gallons over his lifetime. He was a longtime member of Mt. Byrd Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School for twenty-one years and served as a deacon. He had also recently been accepted to serve as an elder of the church. Over the years, he was a die-hard University of Kentucky Wildcat fan and he enjoyed coaching his children's sports teams, being a leader in the youth programs, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Henderson passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
