Danny McAlister

Life story Danny McAlister, age 64, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born August 2, 1952 in Madison, Indiana, he was the son of Donald and Frances Tilley McAlister. He worked for Miller Pipeline earlier in his life. On March 29, 1988, he married Virginia McAlister. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and he enjoyed trapping, horseshoes, and listening to Bob Seger albums. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Virginia "Jenny" McAlister of Madison; his daughter, Jennifer Gregory of Madison; his sons, Joshua Rowlett and Aaron Stewart, both of Madison; his brothers, Donald McAlister Jr. and Mike McAlister, both of Madison; ten grandchildren: Corey Stewart, Tiffany Connelly (Zachary), Brittany Gregory, Stephanie Gregory, Gary Dean Rowlett, Joshua Rowlett Jr., Ryan Rowlett, Tyler Rowlett, Zachary Stewart, and Cordon Stewart; and ten great grandchildren: David Sanford Dean Stewart, Colton Dean Ardell Stewart, Alexandria Marie Lynn Stewart, Halo Lynnannette Nelson, Leland Matthew Pence, Amelia Connelly, Kaylynn Connelly, Cy Ewing, Raegan Ewing, and Kyrie Ewing; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Reba Kaltenbacher on April 29, 2011; his great granddaughter, Octavia Lynn-Lee Griffin on September 11, 2016; and several aunts and uncles. The Reverend Mike Johnson will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison, with interment to follow in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2017, and from 12:00 PM until time of service on Sunday, January 22, 2017. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church or Indiana University Health Organ Transplant Team.
