Darrell Wayne Cooley

Darrell Wayne Cooley, age 53, of Carrollton, Kentucky, and son of the late Robert and Martha (Layton) Cooley, was born on January 14, 1971, in Madison, Indiana. He loved riding his three-wheel bicycle and collecting Hot Wheels, baseball cards, and aluminum cans. He always greeted everyone with a contagious smile. Mr. Cooley passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Kentucky.

His life will be cherished by his sister: Helen Widmayer Mahon, of Carrollton; his nieces and nephews: Danny, Melissa, Teresa, Steven, Jessica, Martha and Deanna; and several other nieces, nephews and cousin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Jane Handlin, and his brother, Robert Cooley, Jr.

Reverend Frank McGee will conduct funeral services at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop. Friends and family may call at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
