David Carroll Anderson, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Alvin Anderson and Drucilla (McMee) Anderson Craig, was born on February 26, 1944, in Bedford, Kentucky. During his teenage years, he moved to Madison where he grew up on North Walnut Street with lifelong friends, Kenny Cull and Larry Claghorn. He was a 1964 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. For most of his life, he worked at Rockwell Automation/Reliance Electric where he made many long-time friends until his retirement. David was an avid sports fan as he enjoyed cheering for the University of Kentucky Basketball team and the Cincinnati Bengals, and attending Cincinnati Reds baseball games. For years, he would run up and down the hill on Highway 421 and enjoyed running in races like the Madison Courier Firecracker 10K. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching poker and billiards. David attended Faith Covenant Church throughout the years. Mr. Anderson passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at his residence in Madison.
He is survived by his niece: Kimberly Ford (Jeff) of Madison; his nephews: Danny Lee Anderson of Columbus, Indiana and Keith Pennington of Madison; his great nephew: Joshua Loechler (Jennifer) of Madison; and his lifelong friend, Kenneth Cull (Francine) of Madison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Florence (Anderson) Wingham and Alvin Anderson, Jr.; his nephews: George "Kevin" Pennington and Craig Pennington; and his close friends: Norman Leatherbury and Larry Claghorn.
Pastor Judy Howard-Stater will conduct graveside services at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Bedford Cemetery, Highway 42 West, Bedford, Kentucky, with interment to follow.
