Life story

David Randall Priddy, age 82, of Madison, Indiana passed away on July 3, 2020, in Madison. Born June 8, 1938 in Brown County, Indiana, he was the son of Irvin and Irene (Seitz) Priddy. He was a 1957 graduate of Nashville High School. In May 1961, he was united in marriage to Darlene Bladen of New Washington, Indiana. They lived in Brown County and Columbus for several years. They were blessed with a loving daughter, Brook.

While a senior in high school, Dave was employed on the night shift at Cummins. After serving in the United States Navy, he was an employee of Arvins in Columbus until he became a commercial and residential painter, working in Indianapolis and Columbus. In 1973, he moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona, where he developed Deer Valley Painting. Victorian homes, with their multi-colored intricate trim, was his specialty. He retired in 2000 and after 27 years in Phoenix, he and Darlene returned to Indiana to be near their daughter in Cincinnati and family in Madison. He worked part-time for several years at Sunrise Golf Course. He was an avid NASCAR fan his entire life (Tony Stewart was his favorite driver), enjoyed square dancing, sports, his grandkids, and playing euchre and poker, especially Texas Hold 'Em. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and was also a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Elizabeth David of Nashville and Phyllis Fleetwood of Madison. This beloved husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Darlene; devoted daughter, Brook and son-in-law, Tony Agliata, granddaughter, Gwen, and two grandsons, Christian and James, of Cincinnati; and two nephews, Dennis David and Mark David of Brown County.
