David "Doyle" Hardesty

Obituary

David "Doyle" Hardesty, age 66, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Robert Andrew and Myrtle Jeanette (Hermus) Hardesty, was born on August 27, 1956, in Monticello, Indiana. He enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on July 29, 1977. He moved to Madison for work and retired in 2005 from CL Coating at Dow Corning where he was a painter. He was united in marriage to the former Gina Owens and they enjoyed many years together. He was a proud and loyal member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion and the honor guard. He was also awarded lifetime membership of the AMVETS organization. Mr. Hardesty passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at his residence in Madison.

His life will be cherished by his wife: Gina of Madison; his children: Nathan Hardesty, Nick Hardesty, Sheena Hardesty of Monticello, Jeremy Owens of Deputy, Indiana, Haley Montiel and her husband, David of Versailles, Indiana, Justin Mundt of Deputy; and Heather Hardy and her husband, Dakota of Deputy; his mother-in-law: Peggy Owens of Deputy; seven brothers, two sisters, his grandchildren: Jazlyn, Kylar, and Owen; and his great-grandchildren: Everest, Raelynn, and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Doyle's wishes were to donate his body to science. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Honor Guard of Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
