Denver Couch Obituary

Denver Couch, age 77, of Otisco, Indiana, and the son of the late Dewey and Maude (Begley) Couch, was born on August 30, 1944, in Leslie County, Kentucky. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and was honorably discharged on September 7, 1966. He earned his associate's degree in order to become a radiology technician. On September 2, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Jan Deaton and this union was blessed with two sons: Aaron and Jonathan. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a musician, artist, and an inventor, even obtaining several patents. He was one of the founders of the Bowlingtown Heritage Association and was named a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Couch passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

His life will be cherished by his wife of 54 years, Jan of Otisco; his son: Aaron Couch and his wife, Shonna of Charlestown, Indiana; his grandchildren: Jennifer Whittaker and her husband, Brandon of Crystal River, Florida, Jessica Love and her husband, Josh of Scottsburg, Indiana, Daniel Couch of Orlando, Florida, Aly Stringer and her husband, Sean of Rockwood, Tennessee, and Anthony Couch of Bastrop, Texas; five great grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law: Tanya Torres of Tampa, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Couch who passed away on August 2, 2017.

Reverend Ralph "Yankee" Arnold will conduct memorial services at 3:30 PM Friday, June 10, 2022 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with inurnment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 2:30 PM until the time of the service on Friday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Bowlingtown Heritage Association. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
