Over the years, he lived in numerous places throughout the United States including: California, Florida, Kentucky, and Kansas, but resided most of his life in Indiana. He was united in marriage to Leola Ann Brierly and they spent 48 wonderful years together until her passing on March 23, 2018. He was known as "Fast Eddie," the mechanic, at a garage in downtown Madison for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing, teaching and winning pool, fishing and teaching tricks of the trade to others, and giving life lessons and advice to those who needed it. His words of wisdom spread for miles, even down to one last very special nurse named Carrie who he shared the importance of spending more time with your family and children, worrying less about missing work when possible.

Eddie believed in the Lord and one of his last requests was for his family and friends to find Jesus and live their best life to see him again in heaven one day. He road with many biker affiliations and worked on motorcycles as well. He was wise, knowledgeable and bold. He was not afraid to tell you what you needed to know or do to better your life or even save it. If you ever needed direction, he was there. Mr. Shepherd passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
