Elsie Grace Banks, age 94, of Milton, Kentucky, and the daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Crafton) Bruner, was born on April 5, 1927, in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was a long time member of Milton United Methodist Church. In December of 1945, she was united in marriage to Laus Banks. For many years, she owned and operated Elsie's Alterations. Mrs. Banks passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laus Banks; her son, Troy Banks; and her stepson, Danel Banks. She is survived by her son, Fred Banks (Diana); her daughter, Maralene Tolliver (Karl); her stepdaughter, Martha "CheChe" Thieman; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday August 19, 2021 at the Milton United Methodist Church, with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery in Milton. Friends and family may call at the Milton United Methodist Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2021, and from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday.
The family is grateful for all the wonderful support of caregivers, our children and hospice staff. Elsie's family invites all friends and family to leave comments and remembrances on the Tribute Wall through the website.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Methodist Church, Hosparus of Louisville or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
