(Henry) Schurick
April 8, 1935 – June 21, 2024
Emily Caroline Schurick, age 89, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Gilbert and Maude (Houze) Henry, was born on April 8, 1935, in Rising Sun, Indiana, the sixth child of eight children. She was a resident of Rising Son for forty-one years before she moved to Madison. Mrs. Schurick was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed flowers, hummingbirds, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was a very strong and independent woman who never met a stranger and always put others before herself. Mrs. Schurick passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Her life will be cherished by her children: Dan Schurick, of Madison, Terri Burchfield and her husband, Mark, of Hanover, Indiana, Jeff Bailey, of Madison, and Diane "Ranee" Fisher and her husband, George, of Madison; sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a lot of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schurick who passed away on November 13, 1965; her sons: Jack, Charles, Steve, and Kenny Schurick; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Monday, June 24, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery in Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
