Mr. Emmett A. Snook, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Rufus and Novella (Downey) Snook, was born on February 4, 1942, at home in Kentucky. He was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Carnine on December 20, 1961 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He farmed until 1973 and worked at the former Armor Metal until his retirement in 2007. Emmett enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting, going to flea markets and yard sales, and spending time with family, friends and especially his grandkids. Mr. Snook passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Gallatin Nursing and Rehab in Warsaw, Kentucky.
His life will be cherished by his children: Tim (Adele) Snook of Vevay, Indiana, Kim Stewart, of Kentucky, and Kevin (Tiffany) Snook of St. Leon, Indiana; his brother: Russell Snook, of Campbellsburg, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Clint (Katie) Bowling of Bardstown, Kentucky, Haley Snook of Florence, Kentucky, and Ace Snook and Zane Snook, both of St. Leon; his great-grandchildren: Sammy, Jack, and Ruthie; his step great-grandchildren: Kylie and Chase; and his loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn on September 30, 2006; his brother, Terry Snook on October 13, 1993; and his sister, Elizabeth Browning in 2020.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2023 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2023, and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers/Dementia Foundation or St. Elizabeth Hospice. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
