On September 10th, 2023, the gates of heaven opened as God reached his arms down to gently welcome Fred K. Shultz into his Kingdom. Fred passed away peacefully with his two sons and daughter-in-law by his side.
Fred was born in Covington, OH on August 31st, 1938, to Father Willard Keith Shultz and Mother Lenace Brinker. Fred was predeceased by loving wife Barabara. He is survived by partner Doris Cutshall; sons Rick (Angie) & Robert Shultz; grandchildren Adam, Andrew, and Ava Shultz; three sisters; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
Fred spent his earliest years in his beloved Northern Wisconsin. His teaching career started in Racine WI, when he was in his twenties. Later, Fred and his wife Barbara moved to Ghana, West Africa where they lived for 14 years. This is where his two son's Rick and Rob were born. In 1985 he moved with his family to Brazil where they lived for four years.
After returning to Wisconsin in 1989, Fred went into semi-retirement splitting time between his home in Green Bay and his cabin in the North Woods of WI. As fate would have it, in 1998 he discovered that he had two long lost sisters. In 2003 Fred was compelled to move to Madison, IN where he developed a deep love and affection for his newly found family. He also met a wonderful lady named Doris Cutshall, who he often spent time with, playing golf, traveling and eating out.
Due to deteriorating health, Fred moved to Houston, TX in December 2021, to be closer to his two sons, Rick and Rob. It is there where he lived out his last year and a half, surrounded by a tremendous support team consisting of family and personal care takers.
Fred took great enjoyment from being with his two sons, fishing, hunting, playing golf and working in his garden. He was a loving, honest, caring and very intelligent man. In addition to being a great spouse, father, and citizen of the world. Although Fred had his own unique way, he left a positive impression on all those who he met during his life.
He will be missed dearly. We love you dad.
