Gerald Lee Purvis

Life story Mr. Gerald Lee "Gary" Purvis, 62, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Trimble County, Kentucky and son of the late Herbert and Rosemary (Jones) Purvis, was born January 4, 1957, in Madison, Indiana. He was united in matrimony to the former Carolyn Brooks. He was retired from the Laborers' International Union Local 741 in Columbus and enjoyed the outdoors with his grandkids and mushroom hunting with his brother, Doug. Mr. Purvis passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019, at his residence in Columbus. His life will be cherished by his wife Carolyn; his children: Lisa Apolonio, Edgar Norton, Jr., Johnny Norton, and James Norton, all of Nelson County, Kentucky; his sisters: Kimberly Garcia of Columbus, Martha Purvis of Columbus, Sandy Kendrick of Winter Haven, Florida and Linda Compton of Columbus; his brothers: Kevin Purvis and Donny Purvis, both of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Terrie Purvis, and his brothers, Doug and Mike Purvis. Reverend Ferrill Davis will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with private interment in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday.
