Gladys Mae Lark, age 87, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Price and Jesse (Mack) Lamb, was born on November 29, 1933, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was raised in Jefferson County, Indiana and had worked at the U.S. Shoe Factory for several years. She attended the House of James Beauty College and later owned and operated Sandy Gail Beauty Salon. She also worked at Merle Norman, Hair Essentials, and most recently Blades Styling Salon, where she retired from at age 80. She was a member of the West Madison United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family. Ms. Lark passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison.
Her life will be cherished by her daughter: Gail F. Linville and her companion, Rob Streeting, of Madison; her grandson: Clinton N. Linville of Madison; her granddaughter, Sara Caldwell and her husband, Dan of Madison; her great grandchildren: Courtney Blackburn of Madison, Paige Blackburn of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Ryan Linville of Madison; her great great grandson: William P. Colwell of Jeffersonville; her sister: Linda Goens of Lexington, Kentucky; and her brother: Bobby Lamb and his wife, Betty of Madison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin D. Linville, and several brothers and sisters.
Reverend David Leland will conduct funeral services at 6:00 PM Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM until the time of the service on Thursday.
