Life story Glenford Dean Wingham, age 92, of Milton, Kentucky, and the son of the late Everett and Margaret (Jackson) Wingham, was born on October 14, 1928, in Milton, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Milton High School. On February 20, 1949, he was united in marriage to the former Louise McDole in Carrollton, Kentucky, and they enjoyed sixty-seven wonderful years together until her passing. Throughout the years, Mr. & Mrs. Wingham fostered over twenty children and welcomed each of them into their home. From 1951 until 1985, he worked for the L & N Railroad, which was later known as CSX. He previously worked for the Pearl Packing, Pepsi Distributor, the Trimble County Highway Department, Yunker Motors, Hirsch Canning Company, and was always working on the farm. Early on in life, he attended Mount Carmel United Methodist Church and during that time, was baptized in the Ohio River. He later became a member of the Mount Tabor Wesleyan Church, where he served on many church boards at the local, district, and state levels. He was a member of The Gideons International and formerly served as a chaplain. In his spare time, he was an avid reader, especially of his Bible. He also enjoyed working puzzles and loved John Deere tractors. Mr. Wingham passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Jewel Place in Madison, Indiana. His life will be cherished by his daughters: Cheryl Boss and her husband, Charles, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jean Tarner of Madison; his siblings: Lewis Jullian Wingham of Madison, Tommy Wingham and his wife, Evelyn of Bedford, Kentucky, Phyllis Jane Royalty of Madison, Allen Keith Wingham and his wife, Ruth of Austin, Indiana, Elaine Maddox and her husband, J.W. of Milton, and Fred Wingham and his wife, Barbara of Hobe Sound, Florida; his grandchildren: Jennifer Tarner, Wes Tarner and his wife, Brandi, and Brian Boss and his wife, Kelley; his great grandchildren: Jacob Tarner, Hunter Boss, Bradley Wariner and Dylan Parsons; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise who passed away on May 31, 2016; his son, Paul Albert Clark Jr. who passed away on September 17, 2020; and his son-in-law, Reverend Michael E. Tarner who passed away on May 4, 2020. Reverend Glenn Black, Reverend Orville Mann, and Reverend Wayne Mahoney will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery in Milton. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mount Tabor Wesleyan Church or the Cedar Lake Lodge. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes or below.
