Life story Harry E. Fields, age 92, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born June 10, 1925 in Dekalb County, Illinois, he was the son of Tivis L., Sr. and Myrtle (Scott) Fields. Mr. Fields was a graduate of Sand Creek High School in Westport, Indiana. He served in the United States Navy from October 21, 1943 to January 30,1945. He retired after twenty-five years as an agent with Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company. He also had been a truck driver for Joe Daily Trucking in Columbus, Indiana and Jacobi Sod of Madison, as well as a design development engineer for Arvin Industries, Columbus. On June 10, 1979, Mr. Fields was united in marriage to the former Mildred L. Reed at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Carroll County, Kentucky. He held memberships in Mount Byrd Christian Church in Milton, Kentucky, Jefferson Post #9, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans, both in Madison. He began singing and playing bass with "The Kent Gospelaires" in 1981. Mr. Fields will be sadly missed by his wife; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Henry Souza of Bedford, Kentucky; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Brenda Bentz of Madison; five step-grandchildren: Barbie Howdeshell, Valerie White, Tracie Bentz, Tina Bell and Jason Barnes; seven great step-grandchildren; two great great step-grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Tivis Fields, Jr. and Bernard Fields. Reverend Mike White and Reverend Aaron Snelling will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday, October 2, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop, with interment to follow in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct military services. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017, and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mount Byrd Christian Church. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations.
