Life story James "Jim" Lee, age 57, of Bloomington, Indiana, formerly of Rexville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Solsberry, Indiana of a massive heart attack. Born October 7, 1960 in Madison, Indiana, he was the son of John William, Jr. and Marcile E. (Watson) Lee. Mr. Lee was a 1978 graduate of South Ripley High School in Versailles, Indiana. Immediately following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving honorably for four years and achieving the rank of Sergeant. At the time of his death, he was self-employed, owning the Weedslayer Company of Bloomington. He previously worked for Rotary Lift for seventeen years and Madison Precision Products, Inc. for seven years, both in Madison, the Honda Corp. in Greensburg, Indiana, and Mazak Corp. in Florence, Kentucky. He was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed four-wheeling, driving race cars and riding motorcycles, and restoring old vehicles. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Marcile Lee of Bloomington; one sister, Patricia Lee of Bloomington; four brothers: Michael Lee and his wife, Evonda of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Paul Lee of Bloomington, Ed Lee of Spokane, Washington, and Rick Lee of Rexville; five half-sisters: Joy Dean Lee of Austin, Texas, Mary Hunt and Joyce Buchanan, both of Versailles, Denise Stevens of Centerville, Indiana, and Rebekah Lee of Bloomington; three half-brothers: Joe Lee of Butlerville, Indiana, John A. Lee of Louisville, Kentucky, and John William Lee, III of Williamsburg, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2013. Reverend Jerry Sewell will conduct memorial services at 6:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, on Madison's hilltop. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, Madison, will conduct a final salute and military honors at the funeral home.
