James Lloyd Rowlett, Jr., age 58, of Madison, Indiana, the son of James Lloyd, "Jim" Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Estes) Rowlett, was born on November 22, 1966, in Madison. After graduating from Madison Consolidated High School in 1985, he enlisted in the United States Army. For the next two years, he would proudly serve our country while in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he attended Ball State University for a short time. He began working at Arvin Sango and then went to work at North American Stainless. Shortly after, he owned and operated Discount Tobacco in Madison and LaGrange, Kentucky. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and was a former member of the Major Samuel Woodfill, Post #9, American Legion in Madison. Mr. Rowlett passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He is survived by his children: Taylor Rowlett, of Destin, Florida, and Chase Rowlett, of Madison; his parents: James L. "Jim" Sr. and Mary E. Rowlett of Madison; his sister: Shelly Rowlett-Watkins and her husband, Craig of Texas; his brother: Jeffery Rowlett and his wife, Kattie of Madison; his loyal friend, Randy Riedel of Madison; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
