Janice Lee Handlon, age 82, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Simon and Mary Jane (Vaughn) Brown, was born on November 21, 1942, in Logansport, Indiana. Throughout her life, she was a nurse's aide at the Waters of Clifty Falls, Hanover Nursing Center, and Bedford Springs Health & Rehabilitation where she retired from after many years. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Bedford, Kentucky. Janice loved playing bingo and watching "The Bold and the Beautiful," and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. She was a hardworking, caring and compassionate woman who was loved by many. Ms. Handlon passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
Her life will be cherished by her children: Mark Handlon of Madison, Robin Reid of Bedford, and Cathy Sullivan and her husband, Tim of Bedford; her grandchildren: Alan Handlon and his wife, Beth of Bedford, Ashley Shields and her husband, Seth of Madison, Brandon Reid of Bedford, Alex Reid of Milton, Kentucky, Hannah Reid of Madison, Kiera Reid of Bedford, Latasha "Tater" Horstman and her husband, Zach of Bedford, Andrea "Andi" Klare and her husband, Aaron of Bedford, Zachery Sullivan of Bedford, and Dani Sullivan of Bedford; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Lois Hankins, and her grandson, Dustin Handlon.
Bro. Bill Waugh will conduct funeral services at 12:00 PM Monday, May 5, 2025 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison, with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may visit at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
