John G. Edwards

John G. Edwards, age 86, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Paul G. and Emma Berth (Morgasson) Edwards, was born on August 17, 1937, in Jefferson County, Indiana. On April 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Elizabeth (Massie) Edwards in Madison, Indiana and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on June 20, 1963. From 1962-1999, he worked at Envirex/Rexnord until his retirement as a supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the gambling boat, spending time bowling, including when he bowled a score of 300, watching Nascar and football. Mr. Edwards passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

His life will be cherished by his daughters: Tina Scott and her husband, Allen of Madison, and Mary Bennett and her husband, Jerry of Madison; his sister, Sally Kidd of Madison; his brothers: George Edwards and his wife, Rita, David Edwards and his wife, Margaret, Jack Edwards, all of Madison; his son-in-law, Josh White; .nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters: Holly White who passed away on August 15, 2003 and Carolyn Simpson who passed away on August 15, 2013; and his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Edwards who passed away on June 18, 2014; three sisters: Linda Chatham, Evelyn Harmon, and Carolyn Lemmon;

Cremation was chosen and A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
