Mr. Juan Valdez Cardenas, age 77, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on April 29, 1944 in New Braunfels, Texas. He was the son of Victor Cardenas and Carolina Valdez and was raised by his loving grandparents. At a young age, he worked on a golf course as a caddy to help support his grandparents where he also fell in love with the game. He worked several construction jobs before becoming a prison guard. He worked in various prisons until he came to Madison to work at the Madison Correctional Facility, where he retired early as a lieutenant in order to play more golf. He loved to play and watch golf whenever he had a chance. He was also a Moose member and past officer of Madison Lodge No. 765.
Juan will be missed by his golf buddy, friend and caretaker, Jeff Sarver of Madison, and all of his Moose Family and fellow golf buddies. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, parents, and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Johnny Shadrich and his wife, Mary; his grandkids: Meagan and Dalton Shadrich; his great grandkids: Raiden Kuehn and Gannon Morris; and one sister.
Mr. Jeff Davis will conduct memorial services at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765, at 1340 Michigan Road, Madison. Friends and family may gather from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the Lodge.
