Kathey Jean Jones

Kathey Jean Jones, age 63, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Tom, Sr. and Wilma (Hall) Jones, was born on April 1, 1958, in Madison, Indiana. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with them as much as she could. She had a thirst for knowledge and excelled in studies, receiving two associate degrees from Ivy Tech. She spent years volunteering in many capacities at the Salvation Army of Madison where she helped in the office, the thrift store, and the soup kitchen. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, making candy, doing crafts with her grandchildren, and making gifts for her cherished family and friends. She enjoyed going on road trips, shopping, and working the election poles with her best friend, Mary Distel. She was always willing to help others, made sure everyone felt loved, and assumed the role of a loving mother and grandmother to many. Ms. Jones passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover, Indiana with her family by her side.

Her life will be cherished by her children: Jonathan Jones, of Madison, and Tamika Thompson, of Madison; her sister: Penny Hart; her brothers: Tom Jones Jr, and Reggie Jones; and her grandchildren: Eli Bonsu ,Bella Jones, Quynton Dowell, Eli Bonsu, and Sophia Keiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death sister, Belma Sullivan and by her daughter, Javetta Matthews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on her birthday, Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Coopers Creek Campground at Coopers Bottom in Milton, Kentucky. A memorial benefit will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Central Hotel in downtown Madison.
